Founder’s story

“My body has shown me the pathway to heal, to find balance and surrender to life with enthusiasm and strength. Life’s challenges have made me move and grow to connect with my inner power. And it is within my heart where ONE HOM was born to invite others to embark on a journey of transformation.

Our bodies are our most sacred home and we are all part of one sacred Mother Earth. With great gratitude I am excited to open One Hom ‘s doors to build a community of teachers, practitioners on a life of ongoing transformation.”

Alejandra de la Rosa is the creator and founder of HOM, a Body Atelier dedicated to offer body-mind practices, guided journeys and holistic treatments, to help guests release stress, alleviate chronic pain, calm the nervous system and embody states of equilibrium and optimal health.

For Alejandra, HOM is a life dream: the creation of a space to connect with your inner power and grow our awareness through transformative experiences.

Alejandra’s career has been marked by a dedication in service of others and promoting human development. Her personal story as a mother traversing fibromyalgia in 2016, were catalysts for her to delve in a quest for wellness tools that went beyond allopathic medicine.

She began her career in 2004 as an interior designer with studies at CENTRO in CDMX and Parsons in New York. Through design she discovered the importance of the relationship between people and their environment to promote their growth and development.

After the birth of her first daughter in 2011, she certified in the RIE Parenting program, specializing in constructivist education in Reggio EMILIA and completing a Master’s Degree in Family Education. The sum of this knowledge led her to create CASCARÓN, supporting the personal development of each member of a family, as well as the relationships between them through recreational activities. The CASCARÓN program is based on the theory that life is like a shell, strong enough to sustain and give life, but also fragile so that it must be nurtured and protected.

Between 2015 and 2016, Alejandra applied her design and pedagogical skills at an educational center in Mexico city “A Favor del Niño” where she participated as a designer in the remodeling of the preschool area and taught art workshops.

In 2016 Alejandra was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a disease that causes pain and even prevents the body’s movement. Not finding answers in traditional medicine, she began her personal inquiry to regain her wellbeing. In this process, she internalized her own theory of CASCARÓN, recognizing the body as her main home and space of care. She became certified as a Yoga teacher and has continued this practice through Sattva Yoga Academy.

In addition, she extended her research by immersing in transcendental meditation. She took Energy Medicine courses with Donna Eden and trained in Breathwork methods. She discovered her capacity to regulate her central nervous system through methods like MELT, Tapping and Resonance Repatterning

The sum of experiences in design, education, meditation and relaxation techniques of her self-healing and creative path have given Alejandra an unparalleled vision about holistic wellbeing. This is how HOM was created: a holistic project that incorporates in a physical space, the wisdom and tools to begin or deepen your path of self transformation.

My body has shown me the pathway to heal, to find balance and surrender to life with enthusiasm and strength. Life’s challenges have made me move and grow to connect with my inner power.
